1) Conventions of a Music Advert - Florence + The Machine Lungs

I believe this music advertisement does conform to the 'normal' type of advert we would see as it has a lot of the usual conventions and gives us the information in which we need to know.

This is the release date in which is placed towards the bottom of the advert. The release date is always important to include on a music advert so that the audience know when the album is coming out and when they can purchase it.

The image used is a picture of the artist herself to show people who haven't heard of the artist know who she is and what she looks like. There is a pair of lungs placed on her body which relates to the name of the album 'Lungs'. Also the colour scheme used here is very natural and earthy with greens and pinks used, this could be portraying innocence and pureness which could reflect the songs on her upcoming album.

The name of the artist is placed at the top of the advert in a font which is consistently used by Florence + The Machine, so straight away fans know this is the artist. It is written in plain white with a black background which appears to be plain, contradicting from the picture which has a lot going on.

This is the name of the album; Lungs. It is written in capital letters to appear bold and eye-catching to the audience so they are easily able to see it. It is following the black and white font colour scheme to again show that it's plain.

Her website is shown right at the bottom of the advert to promote her as an artist and also to give the audience extra information about her and her upcoming album.

Some additional information is included in a smaller font towards the bottom of the advert, in this case it is showing us what hit singles are included, this draws in the audience as they may like the songs meaning they'll want to buy the album and listen to the rest of the songs.

The record company's label is shown in the bottom right hand corner of the advert to show who the artist is signed to and to also promote the record company. Florence + The Machine is signed to 'Moshi Moshi Records'. Moshi Moshi Records is a small London based record label founded by Adrian Pike, Michael McClatchey and Stephen Bass. They have also signed music artists such as Kate Nash and Disclosure.
